It’s been a while since I’ve updated you guys on new products that I love! There are a lot, including an organic deodorant that actually works (yes, it’s really true). Here’s what I’ve been using non-stop lately.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir – This little gem has always caught my eye in the checkout line at Sephora, so I finally decided to give it a try. You’ve probably heard beauty experts rave about it, and I’m just as obsessed now. I got this in Florida when my skin was dry and have been spraying it on before makeup, after makeup, and before bed. It gives off the most perfect amount of mist, and the formula was inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s own special youth formula.
Andalou Naturals Cannacell Happy Day Cream – Like I said, my skin has been kind of dry! I picked this up at Whole Foods and it does the job. Some days I just don’t feel like dealing with facial oils, ya know? Especially when I’m about to put on my makeup. It just doesn’t work for me. This is just the right amount of moisture without being too greasy!
Pure Life Soap Co. Coconut Milk Body Lotion – Another Whole Foods find! I have a habit of going in there to buy olives and leaving with beauty products. What can I say? This is my favorite body lotion right now! Not only does the scent remind me of the Bahamas, it gives a cooling sensation thanks to the aloe vera in it. This will be a summer must-have in this wretched Oklahoma heat!
Herbivore Botanicals Blue Tansy Mask – Okay, so this isn’t a new product for me, but I kind of forgot about it. I usually use Lush’s Cosmetic Warrior mask, BUT they just changed the formula and it made me break out. Still not over it. Anyway, this led me back to this gem and it hasn’t let me down! It’s great for acne, post-acne marks, and exfoliation in general. Plus the jar lasts forever.
Vibes Up Deodorant – This is it. The only natural deodorant so far that doesn’t leave me smelling like a beast. Is the packaging cute? No, not really though it does have crystals in the cap at least. WHO CARES THOUGH?! It works. If you’re in Tulsa, you can find this in store at COR Wellness.
Jason Coconut Creme Toothpaste – Do you love coconut creme pie? You’ll love this toothpaste then! It tastes good, it’s organic, and it makes my teeth whiter. It can do no wrong.
Luna Bronze Gradual Tanning Lotion – Remember back in 2005 when Jergen’s gradual self tanning lotion was life? Full disclosure, I’ve definitely used it more than once since then. Luna Bronze’s formula is the grown up, healthy version of your high school favorite. The smell isn’t the best – it basically just smells like sunscreen – but it’s super natural looking and nontoxic.
Mount Lai Rose Quartz Gua Sha – I finally jumped on the gua sha train, people. I’ve used a jade roller for years, and decided to step my game up. So far it seems to be all it’s cracked up to be! My face definitely looks a little lifted when I’m done.
Castor Oil Eye Drops – Hear me out. I know, castor oil in your eyeballs sounds gross, but it’s kind of life changing. I have SUPER dry eyeballs, which led to me to researching organic alternatives to eye drops since regular ones never moisturize them that well anyway. Castor oil used to be used as eye drops back in ancient times, and I don’t get why it ever stopped being a thing! It feels AMAZING! I put them in before bed (it’s a little messy) and don’t need to use any eyedrops the next day at all. Plus castor oil helps your eyelashes grow. It’s a win-win situation.
Copper Tongue Scraper – Tongue scraping is another dope ancient technique that needs to come back. Worsham has complained about my breath for as long as I can remember. It didn’t matter how often I brushed my teeth, he’d still say my breath stank. Since I started tongue scraping though? Not ONE complaint. Revolutionary. I’m basically a whole new woman. For real though, everyone should be tongue scraping anyway since it helps remove gross bacteria in your mouth. I’m not sure why none of our dentists talk about this. Would have been useful to know before now!
What is Tongue Scraping? Jihwa Prakshalana, or the Ayurvedic self-care ritual known as tongue scraping, is an an oral hygiene practice that removes bacteria, food debris, fungi, toxins, and dead cells from the surface of the tongue.
When we sleep, our digestive system remains awake, removing toxins from our body by depositing them onto the surface of our tongue. If we don’t scrape away these toxins, they get reabsorbed by the body and can lead to respiratory difficulties, digestive problems, and a compromised immune system. – MBGHealth
